Pronouns! Look Who's Talking/Thinking Prompt

Pronouns are often a difficult concept for children with social communication delays. This is especially difficult because pronouns "flip" depending on who is talking.

For example,
  • Teacher: "Joey, where did  you go today?"
Joey: "I went to school today."
  • Teacher: "Joey, where did I go today?"
Joey: "You went to the store today."
  • Teacher: "Joey, did you come with me?"
Joey: "No. I did not come with you."

Pronouns! Setting: Look Who's Talking Prompt on Start
Set Play Look Who's Talking Prompt on Start to ON and the prompt will play at the beginning of each scene.  Ex: "Bobby is talking to Joey," or "Miss Jackson is thinking about Jane."

The
Look Who's Talking/Thinking Prompt "tells" the student, with an audio prompt, who is speaking or thinking. This is especially useful when there are multiple characters displayed in the scene.  When teaching pronouns such as "He" and "She" this becomes even more important.

This is easily accomplished using the Look Who's Talking/Thinking Audio Prompt Icon which is illustrated here.  The first illustration shows the placement of the prompt on the Pronouns game play screen.  The second illustration gives you a better look at the prompt, which is actually a little Audio Button.

Click the audio button to repeat the Look Who's Talking/Thinking Prompt. In the case of our illustration, you would hear, "Elizabeth is talking to Mark" (Elizabeth is the name of our student).
