Opposites — the "Opposite is" Prompt

The "Opposite is" prompt provides a little nudge of a helping hand to your student by providing the name of the missing Opposites image. This is especially useful in those instances where there could be multiple correct opposites for a given image, or where only words are displayed, rather than images.

For example,
  • "Assembled is the opposite of unassembled."
  • "Depleted is the opposite of of replenished."
  • "Ancient is the opposite of modern."

There are three prompt settings in the Opposites Game Settings that interact with the "Opposite is" prompt.

"Opposites is" Prompt Icon and Example
Picture
There are times when you or your student will want  a clue about the missing Opposites image.

This is easily accomplished using the "Opposites is" Prompt Icon which is illustrated here.  The illustration assumes that the Game Settings are set as those shown above.

Click the chat bubble for the "Opposite is" Prompt. In the case of our illustration, you would hear, ""Captive is the opposite of free" and the prompt's text is displayed. Notice the underlined word, "opposite." As each word is played, it is underlined, to allow your student to read along.

Set Play "Opposite is" on Start to ON and the prompt will play at the beginning of each scene.  Ex: "Depleted is the opposite of replenished."

If Play Audio on Correct is ON, the same "Opposite is" prompt will play when the correct answer is chosen from the answer bank.

If Display Text on Correct is ON, the text of the "Opposite is" prompt will appear. This option actually shares its functionality with the Prompt on Correct prompt settings.

If both Play Audio on Correct and Display Text on Correct are ON, each word will be underlined as the text audio is played.
