Student and Parent Avatar Creation First, you will create an avatar to represent your student and another avatar to represent their parent or other supervising adult. Your student and adult will appear throughout Speech Kingdom's stories and some games. We put your student in Speech Kingdom's content to encourage him or her readily engage. Experts have found that doing so makes students far more successful and receptive to engaging and learning. |
Fundamental Skills Mini Stories After you create your avatars, you will see a brief description of Speech Kingdom's Fundamental Skills Mini-Stories. Each mini-story focuses on a single safety, executive function, life skill or social skill and includes a downloadable PDF workbook. Workbooks include coloring pages and writing practice, both of which reinforces their respective skills. |
Social Stories Each social story is presented in three levels:
Intermediate Level (10-12 screens) and Proficient Level (15-17 screens) stories include end-of-scene as well as end-of-story comprehension questions. Downloadable PDF worksheets with fill-in-the-blanks comprehension lessons are also available for each. |
Personal Space — A Sample Social Story Your student will see themselves in our sample screens from a story about Personal Space. He or she will learn an important lesson from the teacher, Miss Jackson, along with friends, Joey, Jane, Mark, Maddie and more. Students learn about Perspective Taking (Theory of Mind) as characters glow with a yellow halo. Just click the glowing character and they will speak out whatever they are thinking. In the end, Miss Jackson will help your student understand the importance of personal space and how not to invade someone else's "body bubble." |
Rewards and Reinforcers Speech Kingdom's reinforcers are beautiful animations that are customized with your student's avatar. Your student will watch themselves do a cannonball into a swimming pool, dance in a squirrel suit, swing a light saber, jump on a mountain top and more. Our large library of reinforcers also includes gymnastics, soccer, your student as a superhero and more. Watch your student dance and dab and perform in many other fun scenes. Click on any of the samples to see your student in action!! |
