Fundamental Skills Mini-Stories
Note: If you haven't done so already, please see Character Glows in the Speech Kingdom Essentials section on the Help page of this site.
What are Fundamental Skills?
Fundamental Skills are mini social stories, each of which is made up of three screens, or scenes. These very short stories focus on a single skill, teach awareness and model appropriate behaviors. Students learn to put these skills to use in every-day real-life situations. Fundamental Skills are appropriate for use by supervising adults with a wide range of students, depending on the issue addressed.

Fundamental Skills Workbooks
Every Fundamental Skills mini-story comes with a three-page downloadable PDF workbook. Each mini-story contains three scenes, which are reproduced in the workbooks. Students will enjoy coloring the scenes and practicing writing the characters' words. Depending on the gender of your student, Speech Kingdom will automatically choose a boy or girl version of the workbook. The following illustration shows the girl version of page #2 of the Wandering Away When Distracted workbook. |
